Regular Training at Taekwondo
Central is a great journey of Personal Development,
Self Discovery and Self Improvement. Martial Arts training is
not only about being able to defeat an enemy but also about
defeating the Inner Enemy and conquering inner fears that stop
confidence and hold you back from attempting to achieve a goal
or a dream.
With consistant
training at Taekwondo Central, you will experience many changes
1 Courage
Is built within our members
by the different challenges they are able to conquer in Taekwondo
Central's training page. Stepping up to an examination(Grading)
puts students under pressure to perform, in return this teaches
members to deal with these emotions of pressure thus making
them stronger.
Though being in Taekwondo
Central's Demo Team or Taekwondo
Central's Competition Team are totally optional,
but they too have their place in boosting courage, Demonstrations
help members deal with the overwhelming performing in front
of the public, while tournaments put members face to facewith
an opponent putting pressure on them in a safe, controlled atmosphere.

Instructor
Melissa Warren demonstrates the
power of her kicks
2 Respect
Is developed through the
traditional martial arts bowing process. In Asian countries
bowing is a sign of respect via lowering yourself to someone,
it is used simular to how a handshake is used in Australia.
A bow signifies respect between each other but also shows to
get respect you must give it.
3 Confidence
Is attained by the "Gihap"
(concentrated yell). By watching you will notice members yelling
out while doing strikes or kicks. A gihap allows you to focus
your concentration into the technique you are doing to increase
the power of your hit, the yell is to boost confidence by making
them feel stronger.
4 Discipline.
To achieve the initial goal
of black belt, a student must consistantly practise, not give
up when the going gets tough, follow through with a goal they
set for themselves. Through this the process of discipline is
developed
"There is
no success in anything without discipline"
5 Patients.
To be proficient in Taekwondo
it takes Time and Patients. A habit is formed only after 3000
- 9000 repetitions of a technique. This takes many training
sessions, but through learning patients and consistantly training
the repetitions can be clocked up to build the right habits.
6 Focus
Is achieved by improving
the students concentration and reaction skills through various
training drills and concentrated efforts during class.
